What I'm loving

1. I'm loving this event coming up.
Blogging Barefoot3

On April 5th, 2011, people all over the world will be going barefoot to raise awareness of the impact that a pair of shoes can have on a child's life. There will be organized walks & events that day - all in an effort to spread the word.

Many bloggers work from home, so it can be hard to really raise awareness just by going barefoot when nobody sees your feet except your family. So instead I challenge you to blog barefoot.

What You Can Do On April 5th...
Post a picture of your bare feet on your blog, along with the a Blogging Barefoot button (codes found here). You can blog about whatever you want, just add a picture of your toesies & link up.
Blog about this event before April 5th so that your readers can participate too.
Tweet, Facebook, and Scream From The Rooftops about this event over the next several weeks.

2. I'm so excited for the spring fever challenge coming up.
Check it out and join in the fun!!

3. 101 in 1001.

I'm so excited about the progress I'm making on my 101 in 1001.
Yesterday, I joined the gym, got a library card, and started couch to 5k.

4. I am so happy about some upcoming visitors!!! The details haven't been finalized so I'm not getting too exited yet, but I'm hoping for the best!!!

5. I'm loving my recent purchase of ITunes.

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
1. Bear is home sick so he is hanging with me and Posey today.

I am so excited because while Posey takes her nap, Bear and I are going to watch Harry Potter. We started it last week, but didn't finish it. We are starting with 1 and I might be obsessed!

2. I joined Netflix this weekend. It's only my hundredth time...I always go back.

I am such a movie buff and I love being able to watch them instantly for only $7.99 a month. That's 2 movie rentals on ITunes.
3. I made grits for breakfast.

Makes me feel at home. =)
4. I have had my new MacBook for a week and I love it. I skyped with one of my favorite girls, Shelby, last week and yesterday with my sister, Jenn, her husband, and their 2 girls. I loved seeing the kids and talking to them for a bit.

5. I started a new book last night.

I didn't get very far, but what I've read, I like!!
6. I'm thinking about running in this 5k next weekend.

It would just be for fun, but it might be too cold. Suggestions?

7. Happy Mingling!!

Anyways, Happy Monday friends!

Pure Bliss

Last night, I got to join the family for dinner at The Melting Pot. It was my first time eating fondue. It was a really fun place.
Once I got off work, I cleaned up a bit around my cottage. I was trying to get rid of my sick germs from earlier this week.
No, I didn't clean in my high heels, but I used to in college and I think i might start again.

After cleaning, I relaxed in bed with a glass of this...
And watched this...
I loved it. I love Anne and Jake...they were perfect for this movie.

Today, I finally went to see this...
It was sooo good!! Not to mention I was in the theater with only one other lady, so we basically got our own private showing.

After the movie, I did a little retail therapy. I wanted to get some white jeans for Spring and I just got a coupon from Express in my email. Lucky me!!! So I officially possess these...

Now I am sitting in the pedicure chair at my new favorite salon...Grace Nails and Spa. I was sick of looking at my St. Patty's Day green nails so today, I went for a coral.
I'm having a girls night tonight that I had to primp myself for. So excited!!

Happy weekend!

Whimsical Wednesday

Tuscany, Italy

{one} what was your first job?

{two} have you ever seen a stand up comedian?
Yes, several times, at the comedy club in Birmingham.

{three} when was the last time you played mini golf?
November 2010 @ Tree Top Family Adventures

{four} what was the last picture you took?
{five} burnt food: yes or no?
I do like my pizza a little overcooked. I like it to be crispy.

{six} if you have a pocket full of change, what do you do with it?
I never keep change in my pocket. It is always just thrown down in my purse or in my change purse.

{seven} can you touch your tongue to your nose?
Yes, I know that this is cheating.

{eight} do you scrapbook?
I haven't had the time lately, but I used to and I absolutely love it.

{nine} do you buy lottery tickets?
Once in a blue moon.

{ten} do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it?
I like both....hey, at least I am being honest.

On another note, I'm still sick and in bed. I have had my limit of soup in the past 2 days so I just ordered some pizza. I plan on stuffing my face and laying in bed. I am almost finished with my book "Baby Proof". I recently read about the book "Minding Ben" in People magazine. Have any of you lovely ladies heard of it? If so, what did you hear?

Happy Wednesday!!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. I had a fabulous week with my family and friends in Alabama. Not to mention the amazing 70 degree weather.

2. I'm heading back to New York today. More snow is on the forecast. Yuck!

3. I planned to have lunch with my older brother and sister, my mom, and my nieces today before heading to the airport, but unfortunately woke up sick.

My mom and I still got to enjoy lunch and some alone time together, but I was sad not to get to see the others before I left.

4. I got a new laptop. I bought a used macbook from a friend and I am so excited. My old one is seriously falling apart.
5. I am starting this book on the plane today.
I have heard great reviews!!

6. Its kind of sad that The Bachelor is over. Now i just have to wait for Bachelor Pad to start.
7. I have almost 1 month exactly until I move to the Bahamas for 3 months. I am kicking into high gear to get into shape. I am determined to lose about 10 pounds. That's doable, right?

Happy Monday!!

Happy Spring

I am so happy that it's officially spring. I love that the weather in Alabama this past week has been so spring-like...now if only that will be the case when I get back to New York tomorrow.

In honor of the first day of spring, I decided to share my spring must haves:

1. Spring-colored nail polish
2. White skinny jeans, which I happen to be on the market for a new pair.

3. A new bathing suit. I am a fanatic about swimwear and typically buy 3 or 4 new swimsuits a summer, sometimes more. Victoria Secret is always my go-to place for fabulous suits.
On my shopping list as of now:
This one is gorgeous and reversible.

I loved this one when it came out last year, but it was a little pricey. Lucky for me, it happens to be on sale now. Still kind of pricey, but totally worth it.

This one is new this year and also on my list for The Bahamas.
I'm also kind of into the monokini's this year. I just might have to purchase this cute little number.

Not great for tan lines, but considering my 3 month stay in the Bahamas, I don't think I'll have to worry about that.

Other spring things that make me happy:
1. Easter
2. Flowers
3. Sandals/flip flops
4. Dresses!!
5. A tan

I hope you all enjoyed your first day of spring as much as I did.
It was spent mostly like this...
