Because I purchased a new pair of Tom's, a child in NEED received a pair of shoes.
Gives a whole new meaning to shopping, huh?
But in all seriousness, think about this next time you are in NEED of a new pair of shoes.

American Cancer Society
I am the team captain of our Relay for Life team at my school.
I am so proud to say that we have raised over $1,500.  My goal was $5,000 but we got a late start and I'm so excited about what we have raised.
If you feel called to make a donation, please do so here.
I'm on a mission to raise funds for American Cancer Society and need your help!

Register for Relay For Life and join me in the fight against cancer today!

If not, but you want to help...click on the link below and find an event near you.

Thanks for the amazing support friends!

Miscellany Monday

Hello Monday!

Write random and link up with Lowercase Letters.

{outfits}

I'm excited to announce that I have a "real" outfit post scheduled for later this week.
No more bathroom's, my friends!
Hold the excitement, I didn't say it was permanent, but I'm making an attemp.
And the red, tacky thing on my shoe would be my pedometer.
I was the top stepper in my entire school last week.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED,
 but now I think I'm just addicted to seeing how many steps I get each day.

 {obsess, much}
at least it's only $1.99 a pop
My new colors that I bought this weekend.
I have to purchase at least one, but usually in sets of three, every time I walk into a store.
OOPS...I just can't help myself.

{Break time}
Sunday was spent cleaning, cleaning, and cleaning some more.
I also put away all of my winter stuff and cleaned out all of my drawers.
I did take a break to cuddle with this little cutie and watch, or attempt to watch, the original Footloose.
I might receive some hate mail for this, but I just didn't like it as much as the new one.
I think it was kind of like if you watch a movie before you read the book;  I should've watched the original first.
Why I liked remake better:
Not a fan of Kevin Bacon
LOVE Julianne Hough
Actually, I liked most of the characters better in the remake.
Please forgive me for those die hard orginal lovers.

{Barons}
Kelley and I attended thirsty Thursday.
Nice excuse to partake in $1 adult beverages and enjoy the nice weather...
only it ended up being freezing cold and we left pretty early.
*freezing cold to me means 55 degrees*

{Sun bathing}
Saturday, we spent the entire day outside soaking up the rays.
I actually soaked up a little too much, but the weather was glorious and I enjoyed reading my new magazines.  {Thanks, Shelbs!!!}
I also snuck in a little bit of actual reading.
I'm currently reading Divergent, which was recommended to those of us who were having Hunger Games withdrawels.  Haha.
So far, I love it!

{STR}

This week's task was to surprise someone.
Friday at school, a teacher friend decided to run to a local favorite to grab some lunch.
Being the awesome person that she is, she took orders for several of us and went to pick it up.
One of the teachers that I work really closely with decided that she didn't need to spend the money.  She is currently saving for an upcoming trip.

I know what she always eats from there so I secretly ordered both of our lunches.
Upon arrival into the school cafeteria, I grabbed our bag from my friend and set it up on our lunch table.
Just as she pulled out her mac and cheese to heat up for lunch, I told her what I had done.
She was happily surprised and we enjoyed such a delish lunch.  :)

It's the small things in life.
Happy Monday lovelies!

Miscellany Monday

Hi lovelies.  I cannot believe it's already Monday.  This weekend flew by....
I can't believe how quickly summer is approaching, but I am so beyond ready for summer to get here!
Write random and link up with Carissa.
{the color run}
Zach and I went to ATL for the COLOR RUN on Saturday.
The most fun EVER!
I am not kidding...
If you have been considering this 5k....consider this your official decision maker.
They just added Birmingham and I plan on doing it again this September.

{Easter}
I'm finally posting my homemade Easter cards that I crafted all last weekend.
They turned out really cute.
Thanks to The Color Issue for this fab idea.
Some pics from our wonderful Easter Sunday!!!

{Gender Reveal}
My sister is preggo with number 3...

The actual reveal is on video, but I couldn't get it to embed.
Here is the link.

When the box first opened, pink balloons flew out...
then there was another little flap on the inside that, once lifted, released blue balloons including the It's a Boy one!

We are all so stoked that they will get their little boy.  :)

{Smell The Roses}
This week's task:

Clean out your closet and donate what you don't use anymore.

Somehow this pic is upside down, but you get the point.

I am so happy to have finally gathered up some things that I either don't use/don't wear anymore.
Such a great feeling!

Happy Monday my fabulous friendsies!

Miscellany Monday

Mondayyyy, you have arrived oh so quickly!!
I'm enjoying a nice cup of coffee and enjoying my morning at home.
(I don't have to be at work until 11:30)

As I'm typing this, I'm listening to Pandora on my handy dandy  iphone.
Wedding Dress by Matt Nathanson is playing right now and it seriously just makes me happy.
I loveeee him!

We all know what time it is...link up time!  :)

I had a fun-filled weekend full of good ole' family time!
I truly love spending time with my lovies...especially my nieces and nephews.
THEY ARE THE BEST.

Friday night, Kim and I babysat Halle, Carter, and Cooper so my brother and his wife could go see The Hunger Games.  We rented Happy Feet 2 (so cute) and cuddled up on the couches.
OK so maybe we had a little bit of fun too!

 Saturday, we ALL went over to my sister and brother-in-law's semi-new house to do some work...
The manly men built this deck, complete with a baby gate. :)
The women put the girls' letters and curtains up in their rooms.
We also did lots of chatting and sitting around on the deck watching the men work.
We were reallly really good at that.

{TWO}
I also did LOTS of shopping this weekend...
UH OH!
I have to admit, most of my stuff came from consignment and TJ MAX so I did bargain shop...that's ok right?
Unfortunately, all of my consignment stuff is being washed, but here is everything else.
I'm loving my new spring clothes.
I think I did pretty good.  I'm actually wearing my new linen pants today. :)

I also bought some fabulous new nail polish.

 {THREE}
I did some major crafting this weekend.
Here is a preview...you will have to wait to see just what I made...

{FOUR}
My new blog design is now installed...yah! I love it.
Also, if you have my old blog button, it will no longer work so PLEASE, pretty please with a cherry on top add my new one.
K, thanks!

OK peeps, it's time for Smell the Roses with Jess from Lovely Little Things.
Check out what Smell The Roses is all about here.

Last week's task was to write down 3 inspirational quotes and post them in places where you'll see them throughout the week.
I know this quote seems a little shallow, but I didn't want to beat around the bush with myself.
In all honestly I want to be fit not SKINNY, but feeling skinny to me isn't really about a number, it's about how I feel soooo there....it's explained. :)
I only did 1 quote this week.

Happy Monday lovies.

XoXo

Miscellany Monday

How did this happen?
Spring break has come and gone in the blink of an eye and Monday has arrived.
Time to get back in the groove and time to link up with Carissa.

I miss Chicago and my lovely bff,
but I think one of my top favorite things from this trip was meeting these kiddos.
While I was in Chicago, Shelby and I volunteered with an organization called Off the Street Club.
Please watch this video...it will give you just a very small glipmse of what Off the Street Club is all about.
This organization only made me want to live in Chicago even more.
Being a part of the these children's lives, even for just one night, was absolutely amazing.
They overcome so much more than I have ever, in 26 years, had to experience.
They deserve to be children, and through Off the Street Club, they are given that opportunity.

There are ways that you can help.
Go here and find out what you can do.

My dog apparently thinks she is something special.
Exhibit A.
Exhibit B.
{THREE}
Look who got her new planner!?!?

This did, kind of, make going back to school a little bit more exciting!
And it came with some free gift tags.
How awesomeeee is that!?!

This week's task:
Do something that is unique to where you live.

I went hiking at Red Mountain Park.
Red Mountain Park is a 1,200 acre former iron ore mining mountain located in Birmingham.  This park has just recently opened up it's first phase to the public and I was excited to check it out.
{Via}

Like major parks across America, including New York’s Central Park and Golden Gate Park in SanFrancisco, Red Mountain Park will be a long-term work in progress. It will be developed over a lengthy period, with plans adapted to changing conditions and public demand.

Unfortunately, I didn't get many pics...except the one above of Coral mud bathing, but it was a lot of fun and I will def go back!!

Happy Monday lovelies.
XoXo
