What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving SOOOO many things today. I have so much to be grateful for...

{Baking, baking, and more baking}
I'm loving being a little Betty Crocker. I made these yummies last night.
And yes, there is a step for licking the bowl.
That would be step 5.
I might have eaten a lot of cake batter....oops!
I actually had so much batter that I didn't even want one of the finished cupcakes. :)

{Boys will be boys}
I'm loving spending time with these 2 cuties.
My old sunglasses provided a great photo opp....I took advantage!

{COLIN}
I'm loving cuddles with sweet baby C!
I love these pics I took of him last night, especially the fluffy hair pic on the right.
It was taken right after his bath.

{Bachelor Pad dos}
I'm so excited for the new season of BP.
Although it can be very dramatic and somewhat annoying at times, I love it!
I have a few favorites on the show and a few that I cannot really stand.
I started the 3 hour!! episode last night, but haven't finished it yet.
I think watching it in small increments works best for me. Haha.
I'm slightly ADD and it becomes so repetitive with the whole this is what has happened, this is what's happening, and this is what is going to happen. Seriously? Just let me watch the show!

{Ocoee Zip}
I'm loving that this weekend I'm going zip lining!!
I've never been before and I will probably be like a kid on Christmas Even come Friday night.
Saturday, I will roadtrip to Tennessee with a friend of mine for this fun little adventure.

I'm really really loving that Saturday night, I'm going to dinner with some friends.
Japanese is my all-time favorite and I haven't had it in about 2 months!!

{Nanny}
I'm loving that I have a trial run with a new family this Friday.
It's a family with 4 kids, but 3 are in school so I will mostly just have one child.
I hope it works out well and that I will get offered the job.

Happy hump day lovies!!

Major Slacker

So I have been slacking majorly, but starting now I'm going to be a better blogger. I have just had a lot going on lately, in a good way. I am catching up for my own purposes so bare with me as I write a dreadfully long post.

So, I moved to New York to be a nanny/personal assistant and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I came up here during the the beginning of December and spent about a week and a half and then went back home to spend Christmas with my family.

So this is what has happened since.....

1. Christmas...
with my dad and stepmom,
with my nieces and newphews,
(who all got new I love NY shirts from their Aunt Steph for Christmas)
and with my mom and stepdad.
The girls with our expecting sister...who has since delivered a beautiful baby girl that I will talk about later in my post.
Girl Shot
Me and mom
Miss these kids so much!!
I was so excited to get to go back home to spend the holidays! I got about a week there before I hit my next destination, which brings me to number
2. The Bahamas!!!
I went to Harbour Island with the family that I work for a few days after Christmas and stayed through New Years. It was my first time in the Bahamas and my first time to go out of the country. It was amazing!
This was the view from my very own cottage!
(pool and all)
A private island that we visited for a day....it was gorgeous and we were the only ones there.
Me and Posey getting ready for Junkanoo, which is similar to Mardi Gras in the islands.
My favorite picture that I took while I was there...
Gorgeous sunsets EVERY night!
I had an awesome time and feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to tag along on their vacation. We spent our days eating, going to the beach, laying by the pool, eating, fishing, and more eating. It was so beautiful! I also had conch for the first time...Eww!

3. Back to New York for "work".
I love my job and couldn't have asked for a better family. The kids are great and it's an adventure everyday living in a new place so far from home.
I spend my time either with the kids or with my new friend Liza, who is an au pair from Germany. We spend most of our time together at a local restaurant which we have adopted as our second home or making trips to NYC to go shopping.
After a shopping trip to the city....uh oh!
Did I really just buy 4 pairs of boots?
4. Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Vacation time again...I could get used to this!!
We spent a week on a ski trip to Jackson Hole! Another first for me.
I got to spend a lot of time bonding with this little one!!
Ski time!!
Again, we spent our days eating, skiing, snowmobiling, shopping, and just enjoying the gorgeous snow!
We rented snowmobiles and drove them 60 miles through Bridger National Forest where we got to see moose and elk just roaming around. It was amazing!

Just a couple of gorgeous shots I caught on camera...
This picture was taken from our balcony.
And this picture was taken at the Elk Refuge that we took a sleigh ride through on our last day.
It was an amazing trip. We got back into New York last week.

5. Last, but definitely not least!
I am an aunt....AGAIN!
My sister, Jenn, had her second baby, a little girl, last Wednesday (19th).
Welcome to the world Blakely Tatum Floyd!!
She weighed a whopping 8 lbs. 14 oz.
The happy mommy and daddy on delivery day.
And happy big sister!!
She is a natural...

I was soo sad to miss her welcoming into the world, but I get to go home to see her in 9 days!!! Yah! I am so excited. I miss everyone so much and can't wait to see all my nieces and nephews.

So expect a lot more posts from here on out...

New York update

Well I have been in New York for 6 days and absolutely love it so far. For those of you who don't know, I moved here to work as a nanny/ mother's helper. There are 4 kids and for the privacy of the family I will refer to them by their first initial. G is 9, B is 7, J is 5, and baby girl (P) is 1. They are all absolutely precious! P is learning to deal with being the baby sister to 3 loving brothers who can sometimes forget that she is only a baby. I really couldn't have asked for a better family.

Here are some pics that I have taken so far...

My cottage...sorry for the black around the edges, but blogging from my phone isn't easy.

My Christmas decor!

My king size bed!!

Central park

Me and mom in central park!

This is what I did with the kids this weekend. I think we ate more then we decorated. Ha!

I will post again soon.

Until then...

Staying busy

Alli, Ryan, & Indira have been keeping me pretty busy.
Here is what my typical day is like:
  • Wake up @ 7 and leave (usually still in my pjs) to go pick up Alli and Ryan
  • Come back to Kim's and let them watch Dora/Spongebob or play with LK (Kim is keeping LK this summer) while I get dressed and eat breakfast.
  • Feed the kid's a snack
  • Leave for the daily activities (usually involves parks, picnics, movies, library, etc.)
  • Usually go by Sonic during happy hour for some slushes
  • Head to take them home around 2:30 or 3
  • Once I have dropped Alli and Ryan off @ home, I head downtown to babysit Indira. I get there between 3:30 and 4.
  • Indira is usually waking up from her nap when I get there.
  • We have a snack and go for a walk around Highland.
  • If it is too hot, we play in her playroom with weebles and lots and lots of books!!
  • Around 5:30, Indira gets a bath and gets dinner around 6.
  • After dinner, we read books, listen to kid's music, rock on the front porch, or color until 7 o'clock rolls around and it is time for me to make the 30-40 min drive back to Helena (depending on traffic).
  • Usually I get home, eat dinner, shower, and get in bed. haha...I am exhausted after a long day of entertaining kids.
Here are some pics from last week's adventures

Aldridge Botanical Gardens
Pool Day with my nieces and nephews
Oak Mountain State Park

This past weekend was kind of busy!!

Friday I babysat late, until around 8:00, and then headed back to Helena for girl's night with Heather. I picked her up and we ate San Antonio's. We stopped by my house to pick me up some stuff to spend the night with her and then we headed to her house. We watched reruns of the Bachelorette and had lots of fun just hanging out.

**She has a sleep number bed and it is AMAZING!!

Saturday we slept in a little and decided to go to the pool for a couple of hours before we had to road trip it to Weogufka for Wes and Loren's wedding. It was super hot outside and we got lots of sun.

Woegufka is a very small town near Sylacauga. We made the nearly 2 hour drive and was seconds from being late. It was a nice, small wedding and then we headed back to Birmingham. We all hung out Saturday night and I really enjoyed getting to spend so much time with Heather!! (She was my roommate in college)
Sunday was a nice, relaxing day. I slept in late and stayed in comfy clothes all day!!

Until next time, have a great week! Happy Monday!

Me with Alli and Ryan's baby brother, Charles. He stays home with his mommy, but I did get to stay with him for a couple of hours on Friday. He is soo tiny and so sweet!!!
