The Simple Things

Being back in the states makes me really appreciate the simple things that aren't a part of everyday island life...

-drive thru's
-sweet tea
-cars as opposed get getting everywhere by golf cart
-Internet that doesn't go out every 5 seconds
-movie theaters, even though I haven't made it there yet
-puppy kisses
-last, but def not least, having my family and friends within driving distance is the greatest!!!

What I'm loving Wednesday

{Colin}

I finally got to meet my precious nephew, Colin.

My first time holding him.

He is the absolute sweetest thing.

All clean and smelling delicious after his bath last night.

{New job}

I started my new job yesterday.

This is Alli, Ryan, and Charles.

I've been keeping Alli during her breaks from school for several years. I also kept Ryan last summer, but yesterday was my first day having all 3. It went great. Charles is such a sweetie.

I took them to my sister, Jenn's house. I got to visit with LK and Blakely and the kids had so much fun playing, picnicking, and watching a movie together. It was such a fun day!!

{Pool}

Today I only have the 2 big kids. We are heading to the pool soon to meet up with Jenn, LK, and Blakely. We are all packed with sunscreen, food, drinks, and floats.

{Coral}

Coral is adjusting really well. She has been slightly tortured by several kids, but she tolerates it well. She has been sleeping in bed with me and I love having her!!

She has gotten to where she loves riding in my lap when we are in the car.

Miscellany Monday

{ROADTRIP}

We are 10 hours into our 16 hour drive. Yesterday, we drove through New York, New Jersey, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virgina. 5 states down, 2 to go. We stayed overnight in Bristol, Tennessee. It feels great to be so close to home.

Here we are in Jersey for a quick food stop.

{FOOD}

Southern food=delightful!!

Last night, we had a delicious Southern dinner at Cracker Barrel...one of my favorites.

Just what I've been missing lately. Veggies and sweet tea. Mmmm!!

{BACHELORETTE}

I'm so excited for the season finale tonight. I missed the men tell all episode last night, but my sis DVR'ed it for me so I have lots to watch tonight. I'll be so ready to relex when I get there!!

{BABIES}

I'm staying with my sister, Kim, this week. If you read my blog regularly, you know she just had my precious nephew.

I'm so excited to meet him today!! Not to mention cuddle him while I watch 4 hours of my favorite show.

I'm also hoping to get home in time to do the full loop and see all of my babies!! We will see how the day goes.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm a little late posting today...blogpress on my phone hasn't let me post all day.

Here is what I am loving today...

{ONE}

I'm loving that I took the puppies to the beach for the first time yesterday. It was the cutestthing I've ever seen!!

I'm also loving that this little girl now has a reservation on my jet blue flight to New York.

She is all mine!

I haven't named her yet...so suggestions are welcome.

{TWO}

I'm loving that we downloaded the first few episodes of True Blood season 4 last night. I'm so addicted and I cannot wait to catch up.

{THREE}

I'm loving that my friend, Elizabeth, is arriving back on the island today after her much needed trip home to Cape Cod. Can't wait to hang out and catch up with her.

{FOUR}

I'm loving all the free time I have to spend with my friends before I leave the island.

Yesterday my friend Rosie and I spent the afternoon relaxing at Romora Bay, taking the puppies for a walk on the beach, and then walking on the beach again with our friend Tanya and her dog Max.

I can't believe that I only have 2 more days here. It's quickly coming to an end and I'm surely gonna miss this place and all of my wonderful friends.

On a happy note, I'm loving that I'll get to see this face in 4 days...

and this face in 5 days...
Not to mention the sweet faces of all of my nieces and nephews.

What I'm loving Wednesday

{ONE}
I'm loving my updated iPhone. It stopped working this weekend, but after a trip to the Apple store, it's like brand new. Of course I lost all of my pictures, contacts, etc., but I'm just happy it's working again. I also bought a fancy new case.



{TWO}
I'm loving my new wardrobe. I went on a bit of a shopping spree this week and got lots of new stuff to take back to the Bahamas with me.





{THREE}
I'm loving that I got to spend some much-needed bonding time with my beloved, Heather, yesterday. We shopped, ate lunch, and got pedicures.

{FOUR}
I'm loving that I got to go water skiing this weekend.






{FIVE}
I'm loving that I got to come home this week. I had a great time with my family and friends. It was a busy week trying to squeeze everyone in, but I did it.

Miscellany Monday

{ONE}
My trip home has been amazing!! I cannot believe it is coming to an end so soon, but you better believe I am making the most of the time I have.

{TWO}
My sister's baby shower this weekend was a huge success. Baby Colin got hooked up. He is a loved little boy.

{THREE}
I've been enjoying some southern cooking and sweet tea since I've been home. I'm trying to eat all of my favorite foods before I leave. I'm eating Japanese tonight and I'm so excited! Japanese is my favorite!


{FOUR}
My sister gave me a hair wrap this weekend. I haven't had one since I was like 12. Haha.


{FIVE}
I went on a major shopping spree this week. It's hard living in a place where shopping is not a part of my life. Hopefully I got it all out of my system this week. We shall see.
