Miscellany Monday

How did this happen?
Spring break has come and gone in the blink of an eye and Monday has arrived.
Time to get back in the groove and time to link up with Carissa.
Write random and link up.

{ONE}
I miss Chicago and my lovely bff,
but I think one of my top favorite things from this trip was meeting these kiddos.
While I was in Chicago, Shelby and I volunteered with an organization called Off the Street Club.
Please watch this video...it will give you just a very small glipmse of what Off the Street Club is all about.
This organization only made me want to live in Chicago even more.
Being a part of the these children's lives, even for just one night, was absolutely amazing.
They overcome so much more than I have ever, in 26 years, had to experience.
They deserve to be children, and through Off the Street Club, they are given that opportunity.

There are ways that you can help.
Go here and find out what you can do.

My dog apparently thinks she is something special.

Look who got her new planner!?!?

This did, kind of, make going back to school a little bit more exciting!
And it came with some free gift tags.
How awesomeeee is that!?!

Smell the Roses with Jess from Lovely Little Things

This week's task:
Do something that is unique to where you live.

I went hiking at Red Mountain Park.
Red Mountain Park is a 1,200 acre former iron ore mining mountain located in Birmingham.  This park has just recently opened up it's first phase to the public and I was excited to check it out.

Like major parks across America, including New York’s Central Park and Golden Gate Park in SanFrancisco, Red Mountain Park will be a long-term work in progress. It will be developed over a lengthy period, with plans adapted to changing conditions and public demand.

Unfortunately, I didn't get many pics...except the one above of Coral mud bathing, but it was a lot of fun and I will def go back!!

Happy Monday lovelies.

Miscellany Monday

{ONE}
St. Patty's Day is probably one of my favorite days of the year.
I want to randomly have color days all year long.
Who's with me?
Am I the only one who is sad that it will be a whole year until we get to deck ourselves out in green, green, and more green?!
 Here are a few pics from my fabulous day!  More to come when I do my recap posts.

{TWO}
I LOVE Chicago and every time I visit, I want to live here!!
No joke....there is just something about this city.
Other than the fact that one of my very favorite people lives here!!
One of my favorite pictures that I've taken while I've been here.

 {THREE}
Meet Crosby.  Crosby is Shelby's 4 year old Puggle.
He is awesome, right?
I'm so in love with him...his ears, those eyes, and his sweet little cuddly self.
He also makes me miss my sweet little furbaby back home.
Don't think that I forgot about her, I got her a special souvenir  to take back home to her.  :)

{FOUR}
One of my very fave deal sites, Hautelook, had an Erin Condren deal a few weeks ago that I purchased.... $25 for $50 worth of products from ERINCONDREN.COM
I jumped on this deal because I have been dying for a life planner, but couldn't pay $50.
However, I COULD pay $25.
I just ordered mine!!
I chose this one and I am so super stoked about getting this little jewel in a few weeks.

 {FIVE}
Shelbs and I went on a shopping spree the other day and here are some of my new items.
Forever 21 has always been my store of choice.  I bought every color cami that they had in my size for $2.50 each.  You seriously cannot beat that.
The zipper cardigan is amazing and I know that I will wear it a lot this spring!!
The crossbody and the flats both came from Old Navy and I'm obsessed with both of these items.
I'm super excited to sport that peach blazer.
Ahhh I just love spring and spring fashion.

Ok moving on.
I'm also linking up with one of my faves for Smell the Roses.
Never heard of it...go to her blog now and check it out.
 Lovely Little Things

Last week's task was to try a new recipe.
Although I can't really take credit for making this recipe, I did thoroughly enjoy it!
My first night in Chicago, Shelby's fabulous boyfriend made us ground turkey tacos.
I had never tried ground turkey and probably never would have tried it if it were up to me, but it was delish!!  Turkey is a great, healthy alternative to beef or even chicken and it really didn't taste much different.
If you have never tried replacing turkey in a recipe, please do it.
You won't be sorry!

I hope you guys will go link up with 2 of my favorite gals.
Happy Monday!!  I'm enjoying my last full day in Chicago!

It's Ok

Hi friends!!
I'm in Chicago and that is def ok by me!!

We all know the drill.
Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK...

that I'm spending the next 5 days with one of my absolute favorite peope!!
Shelbs and I have been friends since my sophomore year in collage and considering we have lived in different states for 3 of those years, that says a lot.  She is definitely a life long friend and I am so lucky to have met her!  :)

It's ok...
that I totes stressed about scheduling posts while I am out of town.  I know it's kind of crazy, but I just love blogging and I love having this connection to the world and to my friends that live all over the place.

that I miss Coral already!

that I decided last minute to take yesterday off to prepare for my trip.  Slacker, I know.
That just made my Spring Break 11 days long.  No complaints here!!

that I had a free Southwest coupon to enjoy an adult beverage on my flight last night.
I still get a little anxious when I'm flying so it's nice to be able to take the edge off.

that's it's supposed to be gorgeous while I'm in Chicago!
Bring on 70's and sunny!

Happy happy Thursday lovelies!!

Things I can't wait to see:
ECLIPSE!!!! June 30th....3 more months!!

Things I've seen recently:
Pretty good movie...I love Jennifer Aniston!

I started this one the other night...it was on tv, but I missed the beginning and the end!
I got really into it though, and just requested it on netflix.
I love Gerard Butler so I have to see it!

This movie made me cry ALOT, but it was soo good and really made me think about how naive I am about things that really happen all the time.

This is what I have really been up to:
School, school, and more school, but I love it!
I am having the best experience at Trace Crossings....I love my kids!
