Oh How Pinteresting: Single Edition

I haven't always embraced my singleness.  On occasion, I still get a little down about it and have to remind myself that it will happen one day.  I know that God has someone perfect picked out for me....only time will tell.  Maybe I'm not ready, maybe he's not ready...but obviously getting married young wasn't in the cards for me.  Here I am 26 and single....never in a million years did I see this for myself.  I thought I had it all figured out.  I wanted to get married young and have babies young.
My first real boyfriend lasted from age 16 to almost my 19th birthday.  I was in and out of relationships almost constantly until I met my next long term boyfriend at age 21.  We dated for 2 1/2 years-ish.  Since then, I've had a couple of short 3-6 month relationships, but nothing very long-term.

I remember when being a 5th wheel was the worst thing that could've possible happened, and now it's no big deal to me.  I think that you are only a 5th wheel if you make yourself the odd man out.
I can always have a good time even if I am with my 2 best friends and their significant others.
I live with my sister and her hubby so I'm always a third wheel.

For any of you single bloggers reading this, remember that this is our time to do the things that we may never get the chance to do later in life when we are married/have kids.
This is one of the main reasons that I took a year after I graduated and moved to New York/The Bahamas to be a nanny.
That is something I would've never gotten the opportunity to do if I had a hubby and kids.
I want to make the most of the time that I have to be selfish and do things for ME.
What do I have to lose?

I hope these pins help you to remember why being single isn't such a bad thing.
I'll definitely refer back to this post when I'm have a difficult time.

There is my soap box for the day.

Happy Wednesday!

I started following your blog a couple of weeks ago (I can't even remember how I found you or when haha) But I'm so glad I did!! Sister, I can relate to the single life!! I'm 24, and like you- did not imagine myself not getting ready to settle down at this point. I still have times where I long for that relationship and it's so hard seeing best friends get married and start talking about babies... but then I remember how awesome it is to be free and to not have anything holding me back from my next adventure. I have instead been working on my relationship with God and putting my trust in his timing for me. I know that when Mr. Right comes along I will be ready for it and will have all of my own personal goals (at least some of them) out of the way. Thank you for this post. It's so nice finding people to relate to! Happy Single Days!!
xoxo,
Julia
