Miscellany Monday

Saturday, I worked out hardcore (I'm still feeling the burn) and then met my family at Oak Mountain State Park petting zoo for some good ole' family fun.

Have I ever bragged on the best nieces and nephews a girl could ask for?
The kids are seriously the best.
We bought some food to feed them and they seriously acted like they had never seen food before.
I was kind of obsessed with this donkey.  It was soo sweet.  :)
Saturday night, I went out to dinner with some friends/family and got lots of Colin love!
My sister and her hubby bought my dinner at Outback and they gave me ice cream on the house.
Sunday, I heard an amazing sermon on relationships at church and then I spent the evening at the CIRCUS!
Two peas in a pod.
I'm a little partial to the elephants.  I'm always so amazed by them.

It's been a tradition for me to go to the circus every year for my birthday.
I'm seriously like a kid on Christmas.

Justin had never been and he was pretty impressed to say the least.

After the circus, Justin and I ordered pizza and got Taken 2 on demand.
The first one is seriously one of my favorite movies and the second definitely didn't disappoint.
Loved it!

I have the best coworkers ever!!!
Happy birthday to me.
Happy Monday lovelies!

Miscellany Tuesday

Roadtrip to Columbus to meet the family for the first time....no big deal.  :)

The weekend was spent playing card games,

sneaking in a little Mary Poppins,

meeting the nephews,

looking at old pictures of Justin, (oh and hearing some embarrasing stories),

and eating at some of my favorite restaurants.

I also gave myself a mani.  Good times!

Happy Tuesday lovelies!

It's ok Thursday

I'm linking up with Neely for It's ok Thursday.
It's NOT ok that it's been raining for a week straight.
Our entire school, especially the students, are going a little nutty from lack of sunshine, recess, and fresh air.
I'm just saying.
It could get all kinds of crazy up in here....

Happy Thursday lovelies!

Brand New

I love a fresh start.  I love sitting down after New Year's Day and coming up with my resolutions.
This year, I had such a hard time with this.
I thought for days on end and could not come up anything.

And then, on January 5th I attended Church of the Highlands and heard about the Brand New series.
I immediately knew what my resolutions would consist of...starting over.

He really focused on the term new and improved.
Have you ever really thought about that phrase??
It's impossible to be NEW and IMPROVED...you are either new OR improved, not both.
He focused on the fact that resolutions are very short-lived and people rarely make it more than 6-8 weeks.

From the mouth of Chris Hodges himself, we don't need a  RESOLUTION...we need a REVOLUTION.

We don't need short-term goals, we need a brand new start....a revolution.

So friends, I know you've been dying to know my New Year's Resolution....
it's a REVOLUTION.
A new Steph.
A brand new start.

Instead of dieting,
I'm changing the way I eat.

Instead of trying to lose weight,
I'm changing my activies.

Instead of trying to be a better person,
I'm starting fresh with GOD.

I don't want to change my life for 6-8 weeks, I want a new life.

I'm going to stop trying and start doing.

In the past, I've been all talk and no action.
Happy brand new friends!!!

If you'd like to hear the sermons on this series...click here and enjoy.

Miscellany Monday

{The Bachelor}
I love the new Bachelor and boy are there some crazies this season.

{Miss American Pageant}Autism doesn't define a person and I love that this girl didn't let her obstacles interfere with her dream.
                                                                          {Church}
            I haven't been a member of a church since college, mostly just because I church hop quite a bit,
 but I have loved attending Church of the Highlands and I think I'm finally ready to commit myself to being
  a member.  They are starting a special needs program and I really want to get involved.  I'm really
              excited about this step in my life and can't wait to see what the upcoming year will hold.

They are doing a 21 days of fasting and unfortunately I didn't jump on the bandwagon until yesterday, but I've decided to fast potty words.  Sounds silly, but there is no reason to use them and usually they only slip out when I'm mad, so I'm giving them up.

{Valentines}
I'm getting in the spirit early this year.  I went to the dollar store yesterday and bought me some new socks and a new mug.  I definitely snoozed less this morning because I was so excited to use my new mug.

{Chef Steph}

I love my new apron.  I finally put it to use last night for the first time.  :)

Last night, I made buffalo chicken meatloaf.  I've never been a big fan of meatloaf, but Justin loved it so it's a keeper.

{Roaring 20's, Rolling 30}

Saturday night, we had a surprise 30th birthday party for Jonathan.

The girls putting the photo booth to use.

{Nails}

This week's mani.

{Holding hands}
with Colin...enough said.  :)

 Happy Monday lovelies!
